MANUAL THERAPIES + EXERCISES

The following techniques are typically included in the time for a chiropractic visit and can some times be billed to insurance.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE: A hands-on technique utilized to treat muscles and other soft tissues that may affect joint function; it typically includes kneading, stretching, and/or manipulation of muscles or other soft tissues. (This kind of therapy is distinct from traditional chiropractic adjustments.)

INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION (IASTM) : A manual therapy technique that utilizes designed instruments to assist in detecting and treating areas exhibiting scar tissue, soft tissue restriction, adhesions, or chronic inflammation. It involves repeated “scrapes” in the area of treatment to help break up adhesions or restrictions and to promote blood flow and healing.

CUPPING: A technique that utilizes tools to help decompress regions and promote a control inflammation process for recovery.

ELECTRONIC MUSCLE STIMULATION (E-STIM) : A passive technique whereby electrodes are placed on the skin to aide in pain relief and decrease muscle tension and spasming.

THERAPEUTIC AND CORRECTIVE EXERCISES: The systematic performance or execution of body movements/exercises which aim to improve and restore physical function. Therapeutic exercises are typically prescribed to address range of motion, muscle performance, posture, balance and coordination, relaxation, and altered movement patterns.
